Jeep Safari

Our Jeep tour is recommended for those who want an insight to the Andalucian Mountains and the flora and fauna, wildlife and spectacular views of unspoiled coastline.

The day starts in the National park, where you will have a brilliant opportunity to see the wildlife of this unspoilt area. Our local guide Michael shares his knowledge of the area while explaining about the history, flora and fauna that is typical for this part of Andalucia. The tour then continues up to a vantage point with a spectacular view, where tea, coffee and soft drinks are available.

After further travel in the "Sierras" of Almijara and Tejeda, a stop at a restaurant with a fabulous view, offers the opportunity to enjoy an Andalucian meal. (Vegetarian option available)

The tour continues across the mountains once more, in the direction of a picturesque waterfall. Guests always remember that day out with the local guide Michael, and remark that they have seen the traditional rural side of Spain, passing farmers and goat herders up in the mountains with the old fashion way of living.

Kayaking

Sea kayaking is an ideal way to see the coastal wildlife and environment close up. It is relatively easy with no previous experience necessary although be aware that kayaking is a fairly physical water-based activity and provides a great combination of challenge, exercise and relaxation. This activity is suitable for all ages and is a great way for the family to do something exciting and different together. All trips are fully supervised and the kayaks used are double seaters.

Most people's biggest concern is, do they have to do a capsize drill - well, fear not, because these days it's not necessary as modern kayaks are a lot more stable, controllable and safer.

The mountains come right down to the sea at Nerja and it is possible to walk from the town out into the surrounding countryside with its three nature parks or along the coast. The mild climate is particularly good for walking from March until June and September until November. Some rain can be expected between December and February although it is still mild. The summer months are very hot for walking.

All the walks are graded and they will vary with the season; in mid summer the stream and riverbeds are accessible, while after October you could be wading or even in danger of being swept away. Buses are available, even in winter, to allow circular walks. If a car is used be prepared to take it off the main roads.

Canyoning

Canyoning is an unforgettable experience. It is an activity that involves nearly every kind of mountain progression technique to descend steep river gorges. Canyoning takes place in river gorges of unspoilt beauty, made up of a series of spectacular waterfalls, crystal clear pools and beautiful rock passages, cut and sculpted by water over millions of years.

The canyon descent takes the group down a series of abseils over waterfalls, jumps and slides into pools, scrambling and climbing over boulders, and down gullies following the gorge as it snakes its way down the mountainside.

If you love the magic of the water, unspoilt nature, discovering and exploring inaccessible places then this activity is a must to try.

{short description of image}

Abseiling

Abseiling is fun! It is an exciting activity in itself. Abseils can be done from outcrops, mountains, bridges and buildings.

On a more serious note, it is also an essential skill to enable the rock climber or mountaineer to descend from a climb when there are no other viable means of safe descent.

Abseiling is a wonderful introduction to mountain adventure. Simply put, it the technique for travelling down a rope - and it is used in a variety of circumstances.

Rock climbers use abseiling to get back down to the ground after a climb, or to escape if things become difficult. Today, the technique is popular in itself - as a great way to experience the vertical world.
