We must say that the air.con and fans made it easy to get a good nights sleep and you were right about it only needing the air conditioning on for a few minutes to cool down the bedrooms.

One of the nice things about having in-residence owners is that it can often lead to unexpected bonuses. Soon after we arrived at Casa Robinson, Alan unveiled his favorite toy that had just arrived from England. The toy was a Grinnell Scorpion, a very limited edition open-wheeled roadster that looks exactly like a big silver scorpion.

The Scorpion has two bug-eye headlights, a sleek body that narrows into a 'tail' in the rear, 2 seats, 2 five-point shoulder harnesses, 2 roll bars, no roof, 2 wheels in the front and only one in the back, 5 speeds forward and no reverse gear. Two adults can barely squeeze into the right-hand drive cockpit.

The Scorpion goes from zero to sixty in something like 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 150 mph, though Alan admitted that he has never driven it over 146.

Alan invited me to go for a spin early one evening and, after squeezing my size 7 3/8 head into a visored crash helmet, we were ready to terrorize the tarmac. The aerodynamic helmet and visor were necessary, Alan said, not only for safety, but so that one could hold one's head steady at high speed in the buffeting wind.

Heads turned and tourist cameras snapped as we rolled towards the highway. Alan told me to tap him on the shoulder if I felt "uncomfortable" with his driving. I never had to tap, thanks in part to the twisting highway which skirts the coastline east of Nerja which kept our speed under 100(mph). Alan kept the Scorpion well under control, and the only time I became concerned was on the return trip heading west into the setting sun when the sun-glare reduced visibility to a squint. The glare did not deter Alan from passing car after car around the mountain curves, however, one hand on the wheel as the Scorpion strained to grip the asphalt and one hand shielding his sight from the glare.
When we returned to the apartment, I asked Alan if he had ever broken the rear wheel loose and lost control.
"I've only rolled it over twice," he said, "so far."

Thank you for providing such a beautiful place for our holiday and for greeting us with personal warmth to match Nerja's picture-perfect coastal weather.

Liz, the work-alcoholic of our threesome, said it was perhaps the best "real" vacation she'd had in years; Lynn still talks about her spin in your roadster, and I can close my eyes and see the beautiful vista from the Casa Carmen terrace. All three of us agreed that we'd love to return to Nerja again and again, and for a longer time each time!

We were sad to leave, but our return home was as pleasant as one could expect when packed in a flying tin can. Today we're back to real life, but that seems a bit easier now that we have such beautiful, fun memories of our vacation in Spain. My first errand today will be to get some travel photos printed to show off to my friends.

Thank you for the wine and food basket and for the many ways you insured that our time there was a perfect vacation. Casa Carmen was lovely and offered all we needed. Soon I'll have the photos to prove it! If I can learn how to get my new digital camera to transmit them, I'll send one or two to you.

Thank you so much for giving us a really great week. Just what the doctor ordered - sun, sea, pool and a really super apartment. We know the latter is what makes or breaks a holiday, having had the misfortune in the past (only once!) to have second-rate accommodation. Petra has everything one could ask for.

Nerja is a really lovely town for some R&R, and we will plan for two weeks next time! We thought the facilities (showers, recliners etc) at Burriana were really good, and considering the large numbers of people, there was never a feeling of over-crowding.

And the 'Robbo extras' were a big hit: Suzanne thoroughly enjoyed her motorised outings, and going to the footie in Malaga was a good evening. Many thanks again

We arrived at the apartments, parked the car right out front and walked up the few steps to the apartment where we were greeted by a very welcoming and friendly Anne who owns the apartments along with her husband Alan, who was soon introduced to us. After the formal introductions and welcome, Anne escorted us to Casa Rosa apartment where we were staying and proceeded to give us a full guided tour.

After a short time Anne left us to familiarize ourselves with our new surroundings which we did with great awe. All four of us immediately agreed Casa Rosa was the most wonderful and well-equipped apartment any of us had ever had the pleasure of staying in. It had everything you could wish for. Owners that practically live next door if you need them, a welcome tray of refreshments that included wine, bottled water, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter and a selection of jams, everything you need to help you relax after the journey.

The interior of Casa Rosa was exquisite, with its luxury furnishings, wonderful fully fitted kitchen, superb marble bathroom and en-suite, spacious balcony and its very own private rooftop terrace with breathtaking views over the town of Nerja. The shared pool was fantastic and just what you need on those hot days to cool off a little - and more often than not, it was empty.

I could spend the next week writing about the apartments and what a wonderful holiday we had but I think I will let you discover for yourself what a wonderful place it is. All I ask is that you book early to avoid disappointment, and if you can, try not to book the first two weeks in September - that is when I hope to return. But hey! First come first served.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. My girlfriend and I loved the apartment and the view. Her parents were a short walk away, and her sister was staying nearby too. In fact, after a wonderful meal and plenty of wine on our final night, Laura and I returned to our apartment after a beautiful walk along the beach, and I proposed on the balcony. She said yes, although I still insist the noise of the sea, the stars and beautiful view had nothing to do with her saying yes!!
I own property in the La Manga club near Cabo de Polas on the Costa Blanca, and even today am still stunned by the service and facilities on offer there. But I have to say that it has never provided anything like the flavour of Spain we got from our travels round Nerja. I appreciate the help you, your wife and friends provided and can assure you that your standards and the delights of Nerja made for a holiday Laura and I wont forget for the rest of our lives.
Obviously we will be returning to celebrate anniversaries etc in the future. I wish you and your wife all the best with Nerja Lets, you deserve every success.

We could not have been happier with the set up and the location. Nerja is as nice as I remember it from about 20 years ago and the location of the apartment could not have been better. Even the weather was kind.

Many thanks for the efficiency in getting us booked up and in situ and we hope to be back in touch for another trip at some point in the future.

The pool was great! The apartment was super! and the landlords were always ready with a smile to help us out in any situation.

PS: Next time I come to Nerja Alan, I will definitely take you up on your ride in the TOY scorpion?? What year is it? I should have taken some pictures . Oh well, all the more reason to come back.

The driver that picked us up in Granada, and shuttled us to the Malaga airport ( Jose) was very courteous and professional. I enjoyed babbling with him in Spanish during our trip to the airport. I will certainly miss speaking Spanish here.

Steph and I wanted to thank you for a fantastic holiday, indeed it was so good it was very hard to get Steph to go back to work although once I employed the whip everything was O. K

The good news is I am taking delivery of a quad and a 3 wheel racing car next week, the bad news is I am trying to find somewhere to hide them so Steph does not find out, any ideas!!

We did indeed arrive home on time but to a very cold and very wet Wales! We had an excellent holiday. The accommodation was really first class and we are already thinking about next years booking. Subject to flight costs and availability we want to come for 3 weeks rather than just two!
